Network Statement
European Directive 2001/14/EC describes the obligation for rail Infrastructure Managers to publish a Network Statement. This document presents information on the network's rail infrastructure, and on commercial and legal access conditions.RailNetEurope has been promoting the development, harmonisation and publication of user-friendly, customer-oriented Network Statements – designed to enable you to find the information you need very quickly. Network Statements aim to provide all train operators wishing to operate train services on a given rail infrastructure with a single source of up-to-date, relevant information on a fair and non-discriminatory basis.
To this end, the Members of RailNetEurope have agreed a common structure and an implementation guide for drafting Network Statements in accordance with Article 3 of Directive 2001/14/EC. These guidelines can be applied by all Infrastructure Managers and can be downloaded here:
