New Pathfinder Guidelines

December 02, 2009

RNE has published new Guidelines for the use of Pathfinder for the running timetable 2010 and the annual timetable 2011

To support the process of international train path ordering, RNE and its members are offering Pathfinder – a web tool for the coordination of international paths, both for freight and passenger trains.

A new Pathfinder release was launched in November 2009. The major improvement in this new release is the implementation of a harmonised and standardised workflow. Originally, the features currently available for placing path requests before and after the deadline of the second Monday in April, and for feasibility studies, were designed as parallel workflows. The new release merges these procedures into one single workflow. RUs will thus be able to treat every case in a standard dossier for all paths. Additionally, Pathfinder now enables applicants to place path requests for the running timetable.

In order to facilitate the use of Pathfinder, RNE is providing Pathfinder process guidelines which clearly define roles and responsibilities. These guidelines are in line with the internationally-agreed timetabling deadlines. The guidelines can be downloaded here.

For those customers who do not yet use Pathfinder, RNE  provides a paper form enabling them to request international paths. Naturally, all RNE members are always ready to assist their customers with the ordering process.
